Selfie verification, before anyone can match

Everyone takes a selfie inside the app. It is compared with their profile photos to confirm a real person is behind them. Nobody can match until they pass. The selfie stays private: it is never shown on a profile, and only you and our Trust and Safety team can see it.

Block and report, in one tap

From any profile or any chat. Blocking is instant, and the other person is not told. A report goes to a person on our team, not to a bot, and profiles that collect several reports may be hidden while we look.

No exact location, ever

Other members see a rounded distance, like "about 6 miles away". Never a map pin, never a street, never a neighbourhood. You choose how far the app looks for you.

Serendib is for people 18 and over who are building a life. We check date of birth at sign-up, and any account we find belonging to someone younger is removed.

A human reads every report

A person on our team reads the report, looks at the account, and acts: a warning, a hidden profile, or a permanent removal. We keep a record of reports so patterns cannot hide.

Delete your account, any time

In the app, in a few taps. Or by email if you can no longer log in. Your profile, photos, matches and messages are removed. Gone means gone. How to delete your account.

What we never do

Some lines we will not cross.

Sell your dataWe do not sell your personal information to anyone. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to "partners". Your profile exists for one reason: finding your person.
Follow you with ad trackersNo advertising trackers, no third-party analytics in the app or on this website. We use our own simple, cookieless measurement, and the privacy policy says exactly what it records.
Show your verification selfieIt is used once, to confirm you are real, and kept in private storage. It never appears on your profile, and other members can never see it.
Reveal your exact locationNot to other members, not on a map, not in a chat. Distance only, always rounded.
Post for you or contact your familySerendib never posts to your social accounts and never messages anyone on your behalf. Who you tell about us is your decision.
Keep fake profiles aroundOne discovered fake would break the trust the whole community stands on. There are no seeded profiles and no bots. Every profile is a verified person.

Meeting someone new

A few habits that keep you safest.

  • Keep the conversation inside the app until you trust the person. Moving to another app early is the oldest trick there is.
  • Never send money to anyone you have met online, whatever the story. Not once. Report it, and we will step in.
  • Meet in a public place the first time, and tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  • Take your own transport to and from the first meeting.
  • If someone refuses a quick video call before meeting, ask yourself why.
  • Trust your gut. If anything feels wrong, block, report, or simply email us at support@meetserendib.com. A real person will reply.
