How Serendib works: five steps from join to a real plan

Join

Tell us where in the world you are: your country and your city. That is all it takes. The app opens on 14 September on iPhone and Android, and everyone who joins gets the full app free for the first three months. The first 1,000 people to join are Founding Members, with premium for life.

What you seeOne short form: your email, your country, your city. Then a welcome that means it, and your member number if you are one of the first 1,000.

Verify with a selfie

Before anyone can match, they take a quick selfie inside the app. We compare it with their profile photos to confirm a real person is behind them. The selfie is never shown on your profile; only you and our Trust and Safety team can see it. Everyone you meet has passed the same check. So has everyone who meets you.

What you seeThe camera opens, you look at your phone for a moment, and a green verified mark appears next to your name.

Set what matters

Culture filters, always optional, never forced. Religion. Language: Sinhala, Tamil, English. Your home region in Sri Lanka. And your intentions, said plainly, so nobody wastes anyone's time. Poruttam (horoscope) compatibility is there for families who want it: private, and only when both people choose it.

What you seeA short set of chips you tap on or off. Change them any time. Nothing you leave blank is held against you.

Matches near you, in a worldwide community

Serendib looks close to home first. Your person might be a few blocks away, and the app shows you people within the distance you choose. Nobody ever sees your exact location, only a rounded distance. And because the community is worldwide, you can widen the circle whenever you like: London to Toronto, Melbourne to Colombo. A few real matches, not a thousand strangers.
